Clubbing...
I just got back from LQ's (Latin Quarters) and I had a not-so-nice experience with a guy (or two). Unfortunately, it seems like hints don't really work for some guys, so I had to share my thoughts. Thanks for listening!!

lol .. next time if you say no.. and they ask again.. just take the drink and say thanks and turn around lol I learned that from my little sister!
i sometimes wonder how guys dont' get it, but i understand it in a way. Sometimes persistence works but i can say from personal experience that that's rarely the case. The way i look at it is if offer a girl a drink or ask to dance or just try to talk to her and she's not into me then i move on and if i see her doing that with someone else then good for that guy, no need to get pissed about or act out!
When I go out, I usually get the point when a girl says no and move on, no need to bother someone whos not into me, my ego doesnt get brusied but some guys take it as a major blow But I do feel those guys do mess it up for the rest of us because they have said their bullshit and been peristant for no reason so when some guy who is really interested comes along girls usually dont wana hear it.
LMAO LMAO LMAO I love how you were trying to be so nice about it. But let's get real~ there is no sugar coating it... Like the movie and book says " She's" Just not that into you!"
If a guy asked me to dance and I think he is cute, I dance, if I think he is unattractive I say, No Thanks, my feet hurt", I also won't take his drink, because then he will follow me the whole night, and then I feel like I owe him, and have to be nice to him...
I mean honestly, that's how most of us feel... I am glad you were trying to be nice, but its true, guys if we say no, just move on to the next girl... Stop nagging the same girl, who already told you, ''No, thanks, I am good''
Lol at Christina's comment. Funny! I am definitely the one to be nice to everyone and I would hope that me saying no (nicely) to a drink would be a good thing especially during a recession! Who wants to buy people drinks when they are going to probably end up going home dolo?!
Fernando, thanks for pointing out that there is no need to act out. You are completely correct! It’s NOT that serious. If the chemistry is one-sided, it is simply not going to work!
Amit, you are correct in that the persistence to the point of annoyance is not cool because we do get somewhat turned off by the next person that comes along to sing the same ole song.
Pepper, sweetheart, thanks for the sympathy. Good thing is that I did end up having a great evening; it was just a little bumpy. lol
Here’s the story, Dude walks into the club right after me, approaches, talks the good talk ,then we part ways. Since on Friday’s there is free food at LQ’s before seven (PLUG…see you all next Friday!) I get on line to stuff my face in with some good arroz con carne guisada and I sit to eat. Mister Man makes himself comfy next to me and the small talk begins. “What do you do in life? Do you come here often? Yada, yada, yada….” He buys us drinks, which I refused the first two times he asked. My girl arrives with her man and we part ways yet again. As you may know the club is only so small so he makes his way to MY dance “circle” and awkwardly dances à la Michael Jackson-on-speed. I am very diplomatic at semi-ignoring him while continuing to dance with my friends and periodically smiling and nodding, etc. Then all of a sudden he wants to take it to the next level, i.e., move to the dance floor. Ummm, No. Not after he bumped my knees a million times while twirling around like a fairy. Sorry :-( He brought up the fact that we “had dinner together,” that he bought me a drink (p.s., the drinks were TWO FOR ONE!!!), and that he doesn’t want a relationship, he just wants to dance. I felt bad, but I said no really nicely.
Carlos, you definitely warned me many moons ago. Gracias!! lol
Thanks for the compliment Sean. Life is great. Keeping busy. :-)
Alex, keep up the good work; although church going women do go clubbing! lol
Mitz, I received a couple of messages from guys saying the same thing about women. I won’t front, if I see that a guy knows how to dance I have no shame asking to dance, however if I get a “NO” I will not fall apart and make a scene like some men do, nor will I approach the same guy again. I had a guy ask me about 5-6 times if I was ready for the drink he wanted to purchase for me. He didn’t follow me around the club but every time I saw him he asked…wait…maybe he did follow me around?! =/ I guess he didn’t get my hint the first 4 times.
Homie, I feel you. We have been there many times, together. It sucks when the one you actually end up dancing with (the “cute one”) is a horrible dancer. I personally like dancing some types of Spanish music with older men (my Dad/Uncle status) as these are usually the men that really know how to dance…except when they have huge beer bellies and they pull you in really close. Barf.
Thanks for checkin’ me out folks! More to come :-)
